Honda PGM-FiEngine Electrical Fault Finder

Step 1 - Locating the Fault Code

A fault in the ignition or fuel system is shown by the PGM-Fi warning light constantly glowing on the dashboard. The source of the fault can easily be found out by looking at the Engine Control Unit, which is located under the drivers seat.

Looking at the box from the drivers footwell, you should see a small window with two LED's (One orange and one red). The orange LED is used for setting the idle speed. The red LED should be flashing, and this will indicate where the fault lies.

Count how many times the LED flashes between pauses and make a note of this. On newer systems, a long flash is equivalent to 10 short flashes. (i.e 15 short flashes or 1 long flash and 5 short flashes, both mean fault code 15)

Step 2 - The Fault Code

Identify your fault code from the list below. Click the link to activate the fault description/testing and remedy for that code.
